All the circuit racers know Yokohama tyres well. There’s not much left unaccomplished. So, it’s time to turn heads to rally racing.
Yokohama is knocking on the doorstep of rallying. The development of rally tyres is well underway and the first results are already showing. Yokohama has been strong in the European Rally Championship and the all-new A053 Premium gravel tyre is already turning heads in Sweden, the home of Yokohama Europe. In Japan, Yokohama is absolutely dominating the rally scene.
All-in-all, Yokohama is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Yokohama has actually four different thread patterns for loose surfaces, but the most common ones for this region are the classical A053 and A035. Common for both, is the low tyre weight.
The A053 is the most used gravel tyre in the Yokohama range. It’s available for a 15 inch rim, but in several different compounds.
The A035, with the wide-range of available dimensions, is the go to tyre for smaller cars and buggies.
The tyre compounds are similar for both tyres.
Advan A036 is designed to work on broken tarmac or hard, abrasive and compacted gravel. The soft compound of A036 has made it really loved on short sprint stages and rallycross.
The A031 is meant to be used on the muddiest roads. It works well in wet snow or “worst of wet” conditions, where a normal tyre just doesn’t reach the surface.
It’s a tarmac tyre, which well.. Works well on tarmac. Designed to be used in dry or intermediate conditions, but can be easily cut to suit the rain.
The studded Advan A040S is a new addition to Yokohama tyre range. Available in 15 inch, both narrow and wide.
A040S is also available without spikes!
